As an event planner, you know how important it is to have quality training for your staff. You also want sessions that your employees will want to attend, where they will be inspired, invigorated, and encouraged.

You want sessions that will give them fresh, practical ideas they can use in their work as well as in their personal life. They need sessions that are provocative, entertaining, and imaginative.

First and foremost, Mark is a husband of 11 years and a father of two great kids, Ashley and Olivia. In an effort to put family first and be more of an at-home dad, Mark started his own training and consulting business, The Learning Interface, when his first daughter was born. He tells everyone that this was not only the best career decision he ever made, it was one of the best “life” decisions he has ever made.

Mark speaks and writes to parents through a variety of media forms about the importance of their roles, and provides resources to help them build strong, healthy relationships with their children.

The education from his two college degrees pales in comparison to the lessons he’s learned from his two kids. Mark shares those lessons in his new book, “Big Slick Daddy: Poker Strategies for Parenting Success.”

When he’s not raising his kids, he’s raising the stakes at a friendly poker game. His poker claim to fame is getting his picture on the cover of CardPlayer Magazine’s 2005 World Series of Poker Collectors Edition. For his parenting claim to fame, well, he’s not sure he has one yet so check back with his kids again in about 20 years.

THE BUZZ
“If you enjoy poker, this book speaks your language! Mark helps fathers learn about themselves and learn what to do with their kids at the same time. You'll be motivated and equipped to ‘go all in’ with your kids.”
    - Brock Griffin, National Center for Fathering – fathers.com

“Make no mistake, Borowski does have intuitive people skills earned from closely watching competitors around the card table. 'Big Slick Daddy' is remarkably well-written and useful.”
- ForeWord Magazine

“In my nine years as a daycare provider, this is the most unique perspective on the concepts of parenting I have ever read. For fathers who strive to be the best they can be, here is your inspiration! This book spells out a winning strategy for anyone who wants to know what it takes to be an involved father in this new era of parenting.”
- Jan Biniok, Licensed Daycare Professional, Country Life Family Daycare

“This book strikes a nice balance. It provides information that is practical and hands-on and yet, the questions at the end of each chapter allow readers to make the information their own.”
- Linda Pellmann, Marriage & Family Therapist, New Life Resources

“I predict that Mark’s words will resonate with many fathers in ways that traditional parenting advice often doesn’t. Ante up and get this book. The stakes could not be higher.”
- William Chase, Clinical Social Worker, Rhode Island Hospital

“Your book offers some light and refreshing perspective to some very heavy, weighty and important challenges to parents and needs of children. Thought-provoking information tied to a thinker’s game!”
- Jim Breitenfeld, Director of Account Services, Malcolm Marketing Communications

“Great creativity in relating poker to our personal lives – and with some great ideas.”
- Mike Domitrz, Author of May I Kiss You?

“Cool analogies...I'd never thought of parenting in this light. But, you're right...the connections are there. I especially enjoyed the ‘give to get’ connection.”
- Bill Geist, Author of Destination Leadership for Boards
